Personal financial governance

The governance system
for self-directed wealth.

For HNW households whose finances have outgrown spreadsheets and generic dashboards. Build a real Investment Policy Statement, project a base, conservative, and stressed scenario for your plan, and complete a structured monthly review — in about 30 minutes, without sharing your brokerage data. Add your positions later, when you're ready.

Start with a model, not a data import

Three tiers, one product. Each tier is useful on its own.

Most wealth tools ask for full account data before delivering any value. Ironlake asks for an Asset Allocation Model and an IPS, which take about 30 minutes between them, and delivers the governance surface immediately. Importing positions and tax lots is a precision upgrade you make when you're ready — never a precondition for using the product.

Tier A

Model only

~30 min setup

Asset Allocation Model with template gallery (Bogle three-fund, Yale, Browne, Dalio, Swensen, Ferri Core Four, 60/40, more). Deterministic projection with three traces — base, conservative, stressed — and a year-by-year failure marker per trace. Full IPS with risk capacity, tolerance, and need separated. Decision Journal. Monthly review. IPS PDF export. Cash-Deployment Workbench.

Tier B

Position-level

add positions when ready

Everything in Tier A, plus precise allocation rollup, look-through ETF exposure, concentration alerts, accurate income-by-tax-character forecasting, performance vs. your IPS policy benchmark, and Cost & Performance with the all-in number including tax drag.

Tier C

Lot-level

add lots when motivated

Everything in Tier B, plus the Loss Harvesting Scanner with your own Replacement Security Library, wash-sale monitoring across accounts, capital gains scenarios with FIFO/LIFO/HIFO/specific-lot comparison, and the Annual Tax Prep Package for your CPA.

Primary

Self-directed HNW households

Managing your own wealth, transitioning away from a paid advisor, or facing complexity that has outgrown DIY tools. The acute moments that bring you in are concrete: a windfall to deploy, a Roth conversion before December 31, a year-end harvest decision, an inheritance, a business exit, a retirement transition, an RMD age crossing. Ironlake is the governance system that meets each of those moments.

Secondary

Advisor-companion households

Keeping your advisor and tired of feeling like a passenger in your own finances. Walk into every quarterly meeting as a peer with the math in front of you. The Cost & Performance feature shows your true all-in cost and your return vs. your IPS policy benchmark; the Quarterly Meeting Prep tool generates a printable agenda. The same product, the same day.

Policy-first

Every portfolio action traces back to your Investment Policy Statement. The IPS is the constitution; the rest of the product is the enforcement layer.

Behavioral discipline

Decision journals, sell-rule checks, cooling-off periods, stabilization modes. The product makes it harder to do impulsive things and easier to do planned ones.

After-tax reality

Every number reflects what you actually keep. Tax character is a first-class field on every income-producing holding, and every threshold that changes your bill — federal brackets, state, the Medicare and investment-income surtaxes, AMT — is tracked in one place.

Decision support, not advice

Ironlake never tells you what to buy or sell. It surfaces candidates, the math, and the IPS rule that matches. The user always decides.

Manual-first

Works with manual entry, CSV, and Excel imports as primary paths. Brokerage account aggregation is available at higher tiers, never required. Your data, on your schedule.

Empowering, not adversarial

When the product surfaces cost or performance about your advisor, it shows the math and lets the data tell the story.

The projection engine

Three explicit scenarios. Every input visible. No black box.

Most planning tools either oversimplify (a single 6% line that hides the variance) or overcomplicate (10,000 simulated paths with an opaque methodology). Ironlake takes a different shape. Every projection automatically renders three traces — the base case on your assumptions, a conservative case with returns reduced and inflation raised, and a stressed case with a one-time 30% drawdown and a five-year recovery. Each trace shows a failure marker: the year, if any, the portfolio runs to zero. Every assumption is visible and tweakable. The model-vs-budget view answers the planning question directly: does this plan cover what you actually need to spend?

What Ironlake is — and is not

Ironlake is decision support and analytics. It is not a registered investment adviser. It does not place trades. It does not tell you which specific securities to buy or sell. The user always decides; Ironlake equips them with the math, the IPS rule, and the journal to record the rationale.
